Call the Lorax!!!

Oh my God! When I wrote complaining last week about the tree getting cut down and the pollen... I had NO idea what my neighbors had in store for their yard!!! All I heard was something like... compromising the electrical wires, blah blah blah... and I was out of that conversation...

They have been working exclusively on the far side of my neighbors house, where I cant usually see, but I came home today from the store and saw this...

AHHHH! I couldn't believe what they had done! My immediate thought was to call this guy... he'd know what to do!

...And they just kept cutting and cutting and cutting... All I could do was watch as they drug away every limb and stump. Perhaps it was a good lesson for me. The trees are all mostly dead on the inside and their needles are not fun to walk on in the yard. Since they can be so troublesome, I have told Cole I would gladly cut mine down too, but whoa... what a wasteland it leaves!

In order to chop everything down and detangle the electric wires, they had to cut my electricity off for an hour (or, of course, 6 as it so happened... ) so my neighbor came by to apologize later for the disturbance. We were chatting about the work he was doing back there and he mentioned that opening up their backyard is nice too because they have been wanting a pool for years!!! So I thought- well, hey now... a pool? A few steps from my door? That I never have to clean or take care of? Well whats a few dead trees?

Now you know it is going to take them years to get around to that pool. I told Cole they will probably break ground right as we are about to move off again... thats how it usually works for us! So no trees... no pool... no electricity... poop.

Will keep you posted as the yard transforms. Meanwhile, my dead trees are just steady swaying in the breeze... now all on their own, tall and proud. Perhaps they'll become our best selling point when we go to sell this little house? Well them and the neighbors pool ;)...
