Reading List

As mentioned in my last post, we all know January to be a bit slow, but that is not an excuse for our minds to slow down (as if thats possible for me). I am using the month to not only stock up on artwork, but to load up on books to read.

My husband often remarks on the type of shows I have on the TV or computer when he gets home, saying something to point of, "Why do you watch this crap?" Well, I have to explain to him I dont put movies or shows on that I really care about because I will stop working and watch them! It has to either be crappy TV or something I have seen a thousand times and that way I can work on my own stuff without needing to see the picture. So its a fine line... I care enough to listen, but not enough to watch.

I have found I have to be almost as judicious with the books I read. It needs to be stimulating enough to get through a chapter at night, but not so good (or so short) that I cant put it down! I have spent the last couple of nights reading 8 hours straight so that I am going to sleep when Cole is getting up to go to work! Its hard though. Especially when you spend as much time at home as I do! My sister has gotten me on to some really good young adult novels that make me feel silly to read, but are fast paced and short enough to not want to put down! Maybe YA novels are my generations Danielle Steel? Either way, I get in trouble when my husband wakes up in the middle of the night to me looking like this...
 or this...
especially this...
Because you know, in my head, I am doing this...
Haha... gotta love The NeverEnding Story!
Anyway, so if I am going to pick up a book now I have to know what I am getting into. My sleep schedule (and marriage) can really only tolerate a YA page turner every once in a while, so I have to mix everything up with some classics and some historical fiction as well.

So if you are like me I came across this list to get you started... some great reads that I think walk a nice line between keeping you interested, but not up all night? What do you think?
