Spring Cleaning

I know I have been MIA, but I have felt for a while that a bit of spring cleaning was in order- especially in my studio...

I mean, I just had stuffed shoved everywhere... and one would wonder why I didn't utilize my closet space? Well I did. For my clothes. I actually had 2 closets FULL of clothes. So it was a double edged sword... not only was I being suffocated by art supplies, but I consistently guilt myself into never buying anything new because (not only am I broke) but I didn't even wear half the things I already owned! Of course this is a typical problem for us women, but the revisiting of it is what is important, because only in revisiting do you find when you have gained some emotional distance between you and some of your clothing... It sounds silly, but its true! So I was ready to let go...
I had a pile of things to donate, a pile to send to my sister, and a pile to recycle in my paintings!
I bagged, boxed, stuffed and shoved things where they belonged and the clothes were taken care of! But now I was left with all the non clothing that needed a new home...

This stuff and another closet full had to go somewhere in order to make room in my art closet for real shelving and supplies! So I managed to empty one closet of EVERYTHING!

And I trimmed my clothes down to fit on ONE closet (a smaller closet I might add...)
I was REALLY proud of this. And even moved on to trim my husbands closet... which was a risky undertaking. But he didn't think I could do it! So I earned the right to purge us both of extra fabric!

NOW... I was left with putting everything art related back in a place that took advantage of my extra space and worked in a more economical way...
... and have ended up happy with how things came out... The room breathes easier and that transfer into me breathing as well...
Nothing like a fresh season to start anew with positive energy! SO GLAD to have a new clean space... now for some new clean work to fill it!
